What We Do

Vienna PTA In the Classroom

Media Center Volunteers help shelve books.
Room Parents assist the teacher in planning classroom activities and are responsible for coordinate parent volunteers.
Lunch Buddies eat with a student weekly providing one-on-one time for students. Students are referred to this program by guidance counselors.
Provides Recess Coverage for classrooms allowing teachers more planning time.
Fund student software - We purchase enriching software recommended by the teachers each year.
Fund library and classroom supplies such as STEM bins.

BINS - Tuesdays and Thursdays parents are in the workroom helping teachers with printing, binding, stapling, laminating and other office work.
Hospitality - Monthly Snacks, Teacher appreciation week, teacher t-shirts and more.
Staff Reimbursements - We allot money each year for teachers and staff to purchase supplies needed for their jobs.
Teacher Grants - We have additional funding set aside for teacher to use in their classroom. In the past funds have been used on a phonics program, paint for the enrichment teacher's sensory path, reading programs for all kindergarteners, and more.

Student Incentives - We work with teachers and staff to reward the children for their hard work and cooperation.
Tiger Buck Store - We provide a store for students to "shop" at with their Tiger Bucks. Tiger Bucks are earned throughout the year for hard work, and good behavior.
Book Fair - The PTA organizes, manages and runs 3 book fairs each year. We use book fair funds to purchase new books for the library and classrooms.
Fall Fest/ Glow Party - We put on two large events each year. The main goal of each event is to promote our Vienna community.

Grounds Improvement - We work year around mulching, weeding, and maintaining the courtyard.
Outdoor Enrichment - When needs are identified we provide funding to help better the experience for students and staff. This includes playground equipment, shade structures, walkway enhancements, picnic tables, fencing, the Tiger Den, the car rider overhang and more.
